A Word about COVID-19

Dear Clients, Friends,

 

We are living in extraordinary times.  

Like you, we are preoccupied with sanitation and how all this will affect our families, community and economy.  

WHAT WE KNOW is that one great risk from this pandemic is the breakdown of societal bonds, human decency and local business.  To maintain balance we all need to find ways to keep normalcy in our lives while respecting CDC guidelines.    

WE HAVE ALWAYS CLEANED RECORDS

At Melody Supreme we have always respected the need for excellent hygiene.  The idea of sending something unsanitary into your homes is beyond the pale for us.  All our records are in clean plastic and ALL pre-owned records – since the beginning of the business – have had their covers cleaned with a disinfecting solution.  Ever noticed that hulking machine behind the counter?  That’s our VPI machine, which cleans every piece of pre-owned vinyl we sell. 

Now, we’ve even further stepped up our efforts.  We’ve deep cleaned the store and will continue to disinfect as we move forward – paying particular frequent attention to high traffic areas. But equally important is that we all agree to stay calm, stay safe.  Take care of our neighbors in whatever way we can.  

Watching nature outside the window this morning, it dawned on us that our planet is sending a warning shot.  How will we respond?    

Every business in America is threatened by online behemoths, which, among other sins, are some of the largest utility customers in our area (source: CBS News).  Much of our local electricity comes from fossil fuels including the worst offender: coal.   We can do better than this. 

Everything in nature requires balance to survive.  So, as we spend the next few weeks contemplating what this means, Melody Supreme’s doors will remain open as long as local guidelines allow.  And we will be doing everything we can to make sure our store is as safe as possible.
